Description of the Organization
Fredericka Manor Care Center is a skilled nursing care center. It has longterm care, rehabilitation, and an Alzheimer's unit for its residents. Fredericka is located on 23 acre campus that includes independent assisted living and an Alzheimer's day care center.
Age(s) of Participants
Approximately 70 and above.
Research Availability
As scheduled, 7 days per week from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Orientation Requirement
Orientation, can be done prior to first visit or on first visit. Please call to set up an appointment.
Dress Code
Type of dress should casual but neat, including closed-toed shoes (for safety).
Testing Requirements
(1) TB test
(2) Letter of clearance from the HDP Field Research Coordinator (Emma Chan)
Confidentiality must be observed at all times.
Check-in Procedure
Upon first attendance, an application needs to be completed and an orientation will be given. On all additional visits the volunteer sigh in and out form will need to be completed.
