Physiotherapy Associates - Carmel Valley

Basic Information

Organization and Responsibilities Description

Physiotherapy Associates is a private national rehabilitation company with over 700 outpatient clinics throughout the United States. There are 7 clinics in San Diego County.

The Carmel Valley office has been open for 12 years and works primarily with adolescent through senior adult clients with primarily orthopedic issues. We do occasionally work with neurological and general medical diagnosed clients. We offer both physical and occupational therapy and have two certified hand therapists on staff. We have 4 physical therapists and 3 rehabilitation techs on staff as well.

Physiotherapy Associates can be a valuable resource in gaining insight and experience into the fields of physical and occupational therapy. The student will primarily observe patient treatment (at the discretion of the therapist and patient). The self-directed student can learn about the requirements for applying and becoming accepted to a physical/occupational therapy program, the variety of settings that physical/occupational therapists work in, and the thought processes/characteristics that physical/occupational therapists employ in assisting their patients.

We believe a combination of hands-on/manual therapy with appropriate and individualized exercise programs are the optimum methods for assisting our patients back to healthy, active lifestyles. Educating our patients in posture/body mechanics also plays are vital role in our care.

Observation hours are based on the individual therapist’s schedule/availability and can change due to illness/vacation. We work with a variety of patients of different demographics. Older adult patients tend to schedule mid-morning and early afternoon. Adolescent patients tend to schedule later afternoon/early evening. Our busiest times are mid-morning and later afternoon/early evening, and these are the best times for observing the variety of clients we work with.
