Organization and Responsibilities Description
This mission of Pro Kids, First Tee - San Diego is to challenge underserved youth to excel in life by promoting character development, life skills, and values through education and the game of golf. Through a unique set of programs that combine sport, study, and service, we provide youth grades 2-12 with equitable access to opportunities that will set them on the path to success in adulthood, with support and scholarship service for program alumni.
Located in City Heights, a diverse and historically underserved community. Volunteers are encouraged to provide mentorship, 1:1 tutoring, lead activities, games, workshops based on interests, skills and needs of students. Many students are behind academically and learn best through 1:1 interactions and creative teaching methods.

Research Availability
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 2:30 - 6:00pm
Wednesday: 12 - 6:00pm
Fridays typically have fewer students
Dress Code
Casual and comfortable but professional attire
Clearance Requirements
- Interview
- Orientation with site mentor
- Background check
- Volunteer application
Additional Requirements
Confidentiality should be observed at all times. Any correspondence with the parents must be pre-approved by the office. No pictures may be taken of the children. Prompt attendance is expected.
