Rady Children’s Hospital – Alexa’s PLAYC (Playful Learning Academy for Young Children) cares for children 18 months through age 5 years in an inclusive setting. All five of the classrooms provide care for typically developing children as well as children diagnosed with or at-risk for an autism spectrum disorder. HDS 191 students observe and assist with all aspects of child development, education and supportive care.

Once site placement is confirmed, student should contact site to schedule an orientation.
Sign in at the front desk and check in with the classroom.
Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
No observations during nap time from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Neat, casual attire with closed toed shoes.
Picture ID required at all times.
